ABOUT THIS EXHIBIT: This experimental Exhibit (map and timeline) is generated from news reports from both expert-curated and general news sources. Content is screened by uClassify, an Naive Bayes classification web service and then passed on to the OpenCalais and AlchemyAPI text mining web services for named entity annotation. EpiSPIDER is a tool that demonstrates connectivity between "consumers", "producers" and "transformers" of data within an emerging information and knowledge ecosystem. The left and right panels provide facet-based browsing parameters which users can select to limit the markers displayed on the visualization panels.
